Corporate Profile:

Port Metro Vancouver is responsible for the operation and development of the assets and jurisdictions of the amalgamated ports (Vancouver, Fraser River, North Fraser), which includes Westshore and Neptune coal terminals.

The amalgamated port jurisdiction covers nearly 600 kilometres of shoreline and extends from Point Roberts at the Canada/U.S. border through Burrard Inlet to Port Moody and Indian Arm, and from the mouth of the Fraser River, eastward to the Fraser Valley, north along the Pitt River to Pitt Lake, and includes the north and middle arms of the Fraser River.

The Port is the most diversified in North America, with 30 deep-sea marine cargo terminals, 2 international cruise terminals and several domestic intermodal short sea shipping terminals.

The Port is serviced by two intercontinental Class 1 railways, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Railway, as well as Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Southern Railway of B.C.

Bordering on 16 municipalities, Port Metro Vancouver works with elected officials, city staff, residents and businesses to balance the needs of the shipping and tourism industries, and local communities.  The Port is committed to sustainable operations and development, mindful of economic, social and environmental impacts.

To meet the needs of the Port’s domestic and international business partners, representatives are based in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore and Taipei.  Port Metro Vancouver also operates one international offic in Beijing, China.
