CAC Community Champions Awards
The CAC Annual Award of Distinction and Community Champion Awards will be postponed to 2021 as well. Recognizing the exceptional work of the coal industry in Canada is of the utmost importance and we look forward to further nominations in late 2020 and early 2021.
The Coal Association of Canada is excited to receive nominations for the third annual “Community Champions Awards” to be presented at our conference in March, 2021 in Vancouver, BC. These awards are being used as a way to encourage corporate support of our local communities and recognize these member companies for the positive impacts that their projects are having in their areas.
Member companies are encouraged to identify and nominate one of their own current projects that they feel is having a substantial impact on the local and surrounding community. Letters of support from community leaders is a requirement in order to demonstrate a strong relationship between industry and the people effected.
The Community Champions Awards will be presented to up to three different member companies as decided by a panel of independent judges based on the following criteria:
- Positive impact on local community or communities
- Number of people affected by company/project
- Duration of positive impact on local community
- Company values
Winners will be honoured on the evening of Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the CAC conference Awards Reception to be held at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre in beautiful Vancouver, BC. A press release will also be issued ahead of the conference.
These awards are a reflection of the values that the CAC has been built around, and the importance of strong, positive relationships between our members and communities is one of our greatest priorities.
Please submit your nominations to Reise O’Hara at firstname.lastname@example.org. Nominations must include a completed application form (see below) and letters of support.
